平遥古城简介

1.平遥古城地处山西省中部，交通便利。

Pingyao Ancient City is situated in the center of Shanxi Province, with convenient transportation.

2.作为目前我国保存最完整的古城之一。平遥古城具有近多年的悠久历史。

As an ancient city to be best preserved, Pingyao Ancient City has the long history over 2,800 years.

3.古城内的古城墙、古街道、古庙铺、古寺庙、古民居组成了一个庞大的建筑群。

This huge architectural complex of Pingyao Ancient City is composed of ancient city walls, streets, shops, and dwelling places.

4.1986 年平遥古城被国务院命名为第二批国家历史文化名城。

In 1986, Pingyao AncientCity was designated as the 2nd batch of List of National Famous Historical and Cultural Cities in China by the State Council.

5.1997 年与周边的双林寺、镇国寺一同被联合国教科文组织确定为世界文化遗产，列入《世界遗产名录》。

In 1997, Pingyao Ancient City was recognized as the world cultural heritage with the Shuanglin Temple and Zhenguo Temple by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization.
